With a running time of about an hour and a half, pixar again proves that quality is much better than quantity. The movie was shorter than most movies now a days but was much better than a lot of the animated crap out there. If you know me and my dislike for animated movies, then you’ll understand just how exceptional this movie is, because of the rating im giving this movie. I judge animated movies much more hardly than any other genre… the full review, including my rating, can be read after the break.

UP was a great movie with plenty of humor for all ages. There were a few scenes where I actually had to focus on something other than what was on screen in order to prevent myself from crying. The movie is about an older gentlemen named Carl who recently lost the love of his life. It had always been a life long dream of theirs to visit “Paradise Falls” in south america and so Carl decides to move his entire house down there with the help of some balloons. However the real journey begins when a boy scout gets taken along for the ride on his front porch.

My favourite part of this movie was actually the opening short and I found myself laughing through the entire film. Worth seeing this movie… though nothing in it suggests that it needs to be seen in theatres. If you are looking for a movie to see and are short on ideas… Up is a great candidate.

I give this movie a 8 / 10
