Asimov is dead right? I know about his Laws of Robotics, but I don’t know when he wrote them… meh. Apparently though, scientists are starting to read the blogosphere and are hearing our cries for less robotic intelligence and more killing of the robots!
Impressed and alarmed by advances in artificial intelligence, a group of computer scientists is debating whether there should be limits on research that might lead to loss of human control over computer-based systems that carry a growing share of society’s workload, from waging war to chatting with customers on the phone.
… they agreed that robots that can kill autonomously are either already here or will be soon.
AHhhhhh!hhh!!!11one

Just when you thought you’de seen it all, someone decides to ruin your faith in humanity and come out with this idea. This company wants to sell advertisement space on the moon. Bids start at $46,000 and the auction for these bids close in November. Check the video above for a rendering of how they expect to pull off their evil moon graphiti…
… on an unrelated subject, I am taking donations for my ’8===D’ logo to be impressed on the moon fund.

In a truly shocking moronic turn of events, the company that is responsible for creating the organically powered robot has issued a statement to the public:
“We completely understand the publics concern about futuristic robots feeding on the human population, but that is not our mission,” said Harry Schoell, CEO of Cyclone Power Technologies.
Oh whew… now I’m convinced. Wait, no I am not! Just because you tell me it’s not your mission, doesn’t mean that it can’t happen. Might I remind you of the Manhattan project or the invention of Penicillin? Neither really had it in their mission to develop what they did… well, maybe the Manhattan project did, but shhh. Point is: unless you make it your mission to program the robots with Asimov’s Laws of robotics, then it’ll turn on us! I see no evidence that you are! *glare*

I am totally skipping out on work tomorrow to make 6 dozen of these bad boys… They come with the power of vegetables too! Imagine making a salad for a dinner party and putting a bunch of these little guys into the salad. You’ll be seen as just as awesome as me! (well not quite, but it’ll definitely help).
A link to the full instructions can be found on AnnaTheRed’s flickr gallery for the little guys. Reminds me of the truffle mice I bake every year for christmas actually.

Is it bad that I already found a suitable picture to do this with? I know.. I lack creativity. But this is a sweet looking garbage can, in a pizzeria in New York.

Hey all, did you miss me? Okay Holidays over! I think it’s pretty obvious that impressive things impress me, which is why I’ve been meaning to post this video for a while. It’s of a couple Russian dudes shooting vodka in impressive ways… well I think they are Russian. Let’s face it, they have to be Russian… 1.) It’s Vodka 2.) They are talking in a Russian Accent 3.) It says they are Russian on the source website. (hehee)
Enjoy

This is a movie about the day in a life of an ordinance disposal team that is deployed in Iraq and the movie is filmed with intention to feel like a documentary. The movie allows the viewer to gain perspective into some of the challenges and dangers that soldiers are faced with everyday. The acting is superb but without a clear antagonist, it leaves the viewer feeling like the movie lacked plot direction. Hit the jump for an in depth review of my thoughts of the movie.

You haven’t any idea how difficult it can be to review some of these movies. Especially those in which you’ve enjoyed the book it was based on, as much as I did. Here’s the deal with the most recent Harry Potter movie and more importantly, my review of it: I will be reviewing the movie on an isolated basis. I understand that there was a book, and that’s fine, but the movie is a Hollywood production and cannot possibly make 100% of the details that exist in the book possible on screen. So with that in mind hit the jump if you’re interested in my review of the movie but don’t expect a comparative analysis of the movie to the book. For that you’ll have to read one of the other 1,000 amateur reviews that are on the internet…

Pictured above is Scooter. No. Not A Scooter… Scooter is the dog’s nam– GAH! Nevermind okay? He’s cute regardless of what they call him. At only 8cm tall he is now next in line for the Guiness World Record for the smallest dong dog. He weighs less than a block of butter and has to wear a brightly coloured sock as a ‘jersey’ in order to avoid being stepped on around the house.
