Google Opt-Out Feature… *chuckle*

Wednesday August 12th, 2009 in Sweet Links | No comments »

I don’t remember who it was that I was having this conversation with recently (if it was you, post a comment), but Google is now able to ascertain nearly everything about who you are via their multitude of services they offer for ‘free’. Kind of scary if you think about it. I even know one of my friends keeps all of her most personal information on Google Docs… Things like her passport number and social insurance information. Imagine if Google wanted to take over the world, or just a single individual. Good thing The Onion news network has reported of the new Google Opt-Out feature that is coming soon…

This is how a punk does it: RickRolling Nirvana

Are we all ready for the rush of news posts? My internet was down yesterday (the site wasn’t), so now I’ve got a backlog of content for you.

Sure, we’ve all been RickRolled at least once in our lives, but when I was sent this, I just had to share. It actually goes together quite nicely… makes you wonder if there is someone playing two songs at once all the time to find the perfect combinations of songs.

Thanks to Tom for the new take on an old hit.

Good idea? prolly not. YourWorldofText

Review: Julie & Julia

Most times when you hear about a movie that is ‘based on a true story’ you think sadness or some sort of heart ache. This movie was not the case at all… Maybe that’s because it was based on two true stories and not just one. This light hearted and fun movie will really entertain those viewers who like to cook or enjoy fine dining as much as I do. Hit the jump for my full analysis of the flick…

Umm… I’m not sure how to feel about this, but there seems to be a theme lately of awesome baking ideas. Someone make me a Zelda cake and I’ll know how to feel about it; Zelda is hot.. Especially straight out of the oven!

Oh and on an unrelated note, if you haven’t yet noticed, Some of the pages around the WritheM Network have been facebook enabled. This will let you comment on some pages that you previously couldn’t… it also means there is a shoutbox on the right of the blog that allows users to post anything to. Maybe your own links?

Soon as I have a son I’m dressing him in this… Which means I need 2 things:

  1. Lady to have a son with… preferably hot and smart (Sorry don’t expect child support)
  2. Someone who knits to make this outfit for me.

Anyone? Please use the contact form if you’re able to fill either point…

Chinese teenager beaten to death in internet addiction clinic

CLINIC-BOY_597792a

Man, parents suck now a days! And no, I’m not saying that because I had a rough childhood… cause I didn’t. I got a pony on my 10th birthday. Anyway, This kid’s parents sent him to a concentration camp in china designed to show kids that the internet is bad and break their addictions. (no its not… look at goatse.cx and tubgirl.com, perfect examples of not-bad non-addicting content. <– NSFW).

His parents hoped their teenage son would be home in a month, cured of his addiction to the internet. They never thought that within 10 hours of taking him to an addiction clinic they would receive a telephone call notifying them that he was dead.

They dont even show up at the door to do the dirty work… Its like that one time I dumped a girl over her answering machine– on her birthday– then waited 3 years to get over her– then asked her out again– then realized why I dumped her the first time– then dumped her again– on her birthday. wait… was that me? hmmm

Thanks to Bill who knows the best way to break up with a woman– WITH AN AXE!

Fine I’ll Post it: Starcraft 2 Delayed.

sc2

Apparently everyone and their dog wants this really really unexpected not surprising story to be posted. I’ve had it linked to me 4 times now. meh. Okay here’s the deal. Starcraft 2 will not be coming out this year… I’m totally shocked, but not really. For a company that hasn’t released anything other than MMO material in 5 years, the fact that they want to make it 6 years now isn’t surprising. Their excuse is that they need more time to make the online system better. I guess that’s kinda cool, considering they haven’t done anything except online material for the last 6 years. heh.

While affirming the game was planned for release by the end of 2009, Blizzard president Mike Morhaime said in May: “But as always, we won’t release it until it meets our standards and the expectations of our players.”

Ohhh and if anyone hears about the Beta signup for SC2, please feel free to link me :)
