Whenever any of us get bored at work or need some mental floss we all know where to head. (no not mentalfloss… jeeze) we go to the cracked.com lists. Here’s another one that I’ve just been linked to (Thanks Acai, if that is your real name). This cracked list is of the most extreme photos that aren’t actually photoshopped, even though you think they are. Hit the jump for a few of my favourites, even though they are much more believable if you check the site which has the explanation for each.

IE6 No More! Yeah, I’m jumping on board too…

For those users that browse my website directly on Internet Explorer 6, you may notice that starting today you were confronted with a new warning message. I understand that 25.4% of the visitors that browse my site are using Internet Explorer 6 (probably because they are in a corporate environment) but I have had huge troubles trying to make the site compatible for the old stupid browser. Therefore instead of coding the site to display properly in the outdated browser, I have moved to warn any visitors that hit the site with IE6 that they wont receive the full experience.

For those users in corporate environments, we’d like to start putting pressure on the IT department to upgrade — the more users who complain about seeing the prompts (especially if coming from the top), the more pressure the IT department will have to either upgrade IE 6 or install Firefox side-by-side with IE 6 for compatibility reasons.

Thanks to the ie6nomore.com website for the code that does the check/warn for me.

I’ve been linked to another flash game that has somehow managed to steal nearly 2 days of work away from me… I hope my employer doesn’t read my blog! OH WAIT HE DOES!

Its another tower defense game with a twist. You get gems to activate a tower, and can redeploy as often as you feel you need to, with nothing more than a slight time delay. Unlike most turret defense games out there, this one actually takes a while to figure out the right patterns and schemes to successfully stop the waves of baddies. Give it a try if you find you’re bored or have a few days to devote to a stupid flash game… <sigh>

What a fun film! I know some of you disagreed with my review of The Ugly Truth when I said it was as good as it was, and as a result have downgraded the review for it to an 8. Two reasons why I downgraded it, one of which was 500 Days of Summer was better than The Ugly Truth, but not as good as Star Trek. Hit the jump for the breakdown of my thoughts of why 500 Days of Summer was so enjoyable.

If you read my review of the movie Up, you’ll know that I really enjoyed the short film from Pixar before the movie started. Well good news! It’s been posted online for all our viewing enjoyment. View it above, or click the link below to view it on the metacafe website.
