Just got home from this movie that I really was expecting a lot more from than I got. Hit the jump to find out why the latest comedy staring, George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges, and Kevin Spacey just didn’t cut it for me.

When a news reporter is left by his wife he goes on the hunt for a story worth reporting. His hunt takes him to Iraq and 30 years back in history for a secret military project called psi-research. The military project encouraged the recruits to find alternative methods to winning wars other than just with guns. More specifically they were trained to use their minds. As the movie progresses the viewer is left wondering if there is any truth to what they are saying at all, or maybe they are all just a bunch of hippies hopped up on LSD.

The acting was solid, but the script didn’t demand much from the actors. The comedy is dry and the length between laughs is long. I found it struggled to hold my attention to the plot or the characters and actually found my mind wonder a few times from the movie. There was a few scenes that I found myself chuckling at the idea of what was happening, but due to the lack of engagement it encouraged, I only give this movie a 5 out of 10. Unless you’re already planning on going to the theatre and have seen most everything else, I suggest waiting for the rental. All the best parts are in the trailers anyway.
