Pointless: Manual Digital Clock

Thursday December 17th, 2009 in Sweet Links | No comments »

500x_standard_time

In an effort to be creative and fun, this team of looney-bin’s decided to manually change a digital clock made of wood for 24 hours. Sure it looks cool, and I’m sure you’d think it was pretty sweet if you were on the project until 5 minutes into it… Then you’d be like “God I hate my job!”. Okay someone do the math for me please, how many boards did they move in total?

It suggests that you use wooden skewers as ammo on this badass office crossbow, but I’m totally bending some large paperclips right now to make into darts. Too bad my assistant is on holiday’s for the next month… I’d totally have her make 6 dozen of those things! Hit the jump for the full instructions on how to make your own badass crossbow for the office…Its just an excerpt from John Austin’s must-read new book Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction.

REPOST: Little Red Riding Hood

Tuesday December 1st, 2009 in Sweet Links | No comments »

Sometimes videos are just so awesome, we go back and watch them again and again… Like the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny, or the Powerthirst video. Well the above embeded video has earned a place in my heart very close to the perfect video status. I posted this video once before, but it was on my previous blogging engine and has since been retired… so I felt that if this site was to contain everything awesome, it should contain this video too. Here’s a repost of the Little Red Riding Hood video.

Sweet: Dr. Mario Song

Hey, here’s a pretty sweet video. Quite a few lyrics worth catching, so you may need to view it a couple times. Not me though, I understood all of it before it was even done playing, cause I’m awesome like that. At least that’s what my girlfriend always tells me. OH YEAH!

Burnt out bulbs got you down? Make it a planter!

Wednesday November 25th, 2009 in Sweet Links | No comments »

Here is another project that I really want to try! Infact I think I will! I’ll post pictures once it’s done… Gonna put soil in the bulb and seeds in the soil, we’ll see if it works :)

Any suggestions of what type of seeds I should plant in such a tiny space? looking for a smaller plant though. Throw me your suggestions!via Reusing Lightbulbs: as planters or mini terrariums

How’s that title for ya… say that 10 times without messing up! ha! Gizmodo occasionally does these photography contests, and this week’s results really caught my eye. Check out the full gallery at the link below, but there are some that are really neat. Hit the jump for a description how the non-photoshopped picture above was taken and a few of my favourites from the gallery…

Creative: Ultra-realistic sculptures!

Monday November 23rd, 2009 in Sweet Links | No comments »

half-face

Floating around the internet currently is a collection of pictures taken of sculptures that are arguably real people just standing around and posing for the pictures. Or there is some mad photoshopping going on… either way you be the judge at the official link below. There was just too many pictures to re-post them all, so I hope their site stays up long enough to support all the traffic their receiving now. Understandably it’s gotten quite slow on their site.

OLD: Still worth posting: Marketable: Sign Spinner

Monday November 23rd, 2009 in Sweet Links | No comments »

I have no idea what Jigsaw is or where booth 1112 is, but after watching this video I MUST FIND IT! That being said, this is a great idea for marketing. Ever seen the Little Ceaser’s kids at the roadside holding signs? this is one step up from that… dude spins the sign! Apparently this trick has been featured in such shows as 30 rock and MadTV, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive. Check it out.

Hamburglar be gone! Fridge Locker!

fridgelocker

Do you work in an office where there seems to be someone who always steals random lunches from the fridge? Me too! It’s like a new lunch suprise every day, I never know what I’m going to get! Well this little contraption will keep people like me that away from your lunch (unless I they steal the whole locker, in which case you’re out the $20 for the locker and the cost of your lunch… sucka!)

Sweet Clock… Chain Clock!

I don’t care if this is the coolest clock that I’ve seen, since I spent $299+$16.95 in shiping on my PONG Clock. I also don’t care that this one recycles the use of old parts for a new purpose and thus saves the envrionment. I don’t even care that if I bought it, I’d be one of a very select group of people that own one. I Refuse to pay more than $315.95 on a clock, especially the hugely overpriced amount of $2338.00!!! You know there are children starving in Africa because this clock exists… douches.
