It just seemed appropriate that last week I had to replace my washing machine because it didn’t want to live… and now I get linked a video of one that refuses to die. The owners of this washing machine must have upgraded the motor before throwing a brick in the front window because my old washing machine would have surely died the second it saw a brick in my hand… Enjoy the video of some gnarly washing machine destruction!

Being a pioneer of awesome, It’s no suprise that I like bandwagons… website features, the sports I follow, the games I play, where I buy my tea, what to eat for dinner. If it’s cool, I’m usually doing it– except drugs! Drugs are bad! mmmkay? Well now there is a new bandwagon that I can jump on! I have made CrimsonLinks carbon neutral. Here’s how:

CrimsonLinks gets roughly 8-10k hits a month (depending on how many posts we have).
Each CL visitor generates roughly 0.02 grams of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
Do the math: CL generates less than 7lbs of emissions in a year.
A single tree absorbs and cleans roughly 20lbs of emmision within a year.
So as long as CL plants a single tree a year, we can nearly triple in size and still remain carbon neutral! Hoooray!

EA is releasing a game later this quarter called Dante’s Inferno which is getting a lot of sub-advertising it seems… Wonder if it’s going to be any good. EA has set up multiple websites and hidden tricks and hints all over the interwebs regarding their next big game. Recently digg.com had a little hidden trick up its sleve in its source code. Screenshot above of the ASCII Art that was embeded into the source. I did some digging (no pun intended) and found the site it pointed to required 5 additional passwords to the one that is with the image above, but I located them! Well how interesting is this!? Apparently all it takes is the renaming of any folder on your computer to a neat little string and you’ve got yourself GodMode. It has nearly every option you could ever need in one folder once completed. No comment from Microsoft directly yet about the ‘feature’ but it’s still pretty neat.

To enter “GodMode,” one need only create a new folder and then rename the folder to the following:

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

As a side note, this does work in Vista, but it’s only suggested to use the trick on 32 bit versions of the OS as it can cause some unstability otherwise.
