Creative: Ultra-realistic sculptures!

Monday November 23rd, 2009 in Sweet Links | No comments »

half-face

Floating around the internet currently is a collection of pictures taken of sculptures that are arguably real people just standing around and posing for the pictures. Or there is some mad photoshopping going on… either way you be the judge at the official link below. There was just too many pictures to re-post them all, so I hope their site stays up long enough to support all the traffic their receiving now. Understandably it’s gotten quite slow on their site.

OLD: Still worth posting: Marketable: Sign Spinner

Monday November 23rd, 2009 in Sweet Links | No comments »

I have no idea what Jigsaw is or where booth 1112 is, but after watching this video I MUST FIND IT! That being said, this is a great idea for marketing. Ever seen the Little Ceaser’s kids at the roadside holding signs? this is one step up from that… dude spins the sign! Apparently this trick has been featured in such shows as 30 rock and MadTV, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive. Check it out.

Hamburglar be gone! Fridge Locker!

fridgelocker

Do you work in an office where there seems to be someone who always steals random lunches from the fridge? Me too! It’s like a new lunch suprise every day, I never know what I’m going to get! Well this little contraption will keep people like me that away from your lunch (unless I they steal the whole locker, in which case you’re out the $20 for the locker and the cost of your lunch… sucka!)

pillow-stashe-1

Pictured above is a pretty sweet pillow… The mustache is interchangable too. To allow all your guests to stroke the stache.

Speaking of stache’s you should see that co-worker’s of mine’s mustache. 3 Weeks into Movember and it’s already pretty steller. Pledge him; proceed to prostate cancer here.

You thought you had to be scared of just the Robot-Apocolypse? Think again!

lion-open

Seems Lions are getting smarter! You thought you only had the Robot-Apocolypse to fear? Think again, Linus! What? Your name isn’t Linus? Well it should be!

In the comfort and security of their car, a family thought there was nothing to worry about as they drove through a South African safari park – until a lion calmly opened their back door with his teeth.

wait a sec… are they trying to tell me that the lion in the picture above is actually a male lion? He’s looking awfully female without his mane today! hehehe…

Thanks to Robin for the link.

Treehouse Win

tallest_treehouse_01

Did you ever wish you had the best treehouse on the street when you were kid? I’m pretty sure this guy did… because he grew up and built one of the coolest tree-houses I’ve ever seen! Only second to the one I made out of blankets and rusty nails when I was 7… I just dont get why my mother was so upset when she found that I put the nails THROUGH the blankets. *shrug* Hit the jump for more pictures of the feat.

It’s not Mega-Man but it’s still pretty creative!

DSC00177

When CrimsonLinks reader Bill submitted these photos for concideration the first thing I thought I read was Mega-Man. So clearly you can see why I was let down when I clicked the link and the Magnet-Man he constructed entirely out of super strong hard drive magenets, didn’t look much like mega-man. Hit the jump for another view of the creature. And it’s okay, Bill assured me its not mechanized, so there isn’t any chance of it killing anyone… Wait did it just cough?! IS IT SPREADING H1N1?! Damn you Bill!!!!

Above Amazing: LEGO Pop-up book

Thursday November 12th, 2009 in Sweet Links | No comments »

For my 150′th post to CL I thought I’d post about Two things I loved as a child: LEGO, and popup books. I never thought I’d see the day where some genius put the two together and it wasn’t just a popup book with pictures of LEGO mens. Well this one time I did make a really sweet LEGO car that had like 26 different ways it could shoot or kill other LEGO mens (yes I still have it on my computer desk), but nothing near half as good as this creation. What do you mean those two stories aren’t related?! YES THEY ARE!!

Click the image above or the jump to see the full image which guides you through the process to locating the king’s head. *chuckle* sweeeeet.
