Since last week there have been video’s floating all around the net of Derren Brown and how he accurately guessed the lotto numbers of the week. The video above is the actual original live broadcast of the trick. After the jump are a few explanation videos of how he pulled it off… but before you watch them give it a few minutes and see if you can figure out how he’s done it. Remember that he did start his career as a magician, and most of magician’s methods involve distraction and directing the viewer into false assumptions.
What happens when your wife leaves you and you get fired from your cival engineering job? Well chances are you already have a bajillion toothpicks in your basement, because lets face it… who doesn’t? So you could put all that time and toothpicks to use and come up with a new hobby. Toothpick city building sounds like a good choice! Although my story isn’t very likely to be Stan Munro’s story, he’s still found the time to use those bajillion toothpicks to build a city. He’s got plenty of the recognizable buildings from around the world too. Very impressive Stan. Full collection and a link back to the original set after the break.
This is a screenshot of a video taken from the ISS (That’s International Space Station, not Imperial Star Ship… you treky!) of volcano Sarychev Peak which is in Matua. The 5 mile high plume of smoke was so hot that it practically melted away the surrounding cloud giving the astronauts perfect view of the eruption. I know its only 8 seconds long but it’s totally worth watching a few times… You’ll have to head over to Gizmodo’s site to see the video though, so check the link below.
This little guy holds onto anything you need, just like me. He’ll hold onto your school books, or your neck… whatever you may fancy, just like me! Awesome. You need to get me one. If you want to buy one though, you’ll have to hurry. The link was sent to me yesterday and it had 60 left and today the site says only 4 remaining… (I just bought 56 of them)
Holy cow. I think I just found my new favourite flame throwing apparatus. (It’s the Pyro System 2.2). I’m not sure what happened to the Pyro System 1.0 or even the 2.0 but rest assured the 2.2 is pretty cool! It’s like what would happen if Spiderman got knocked up by the Human torch…
If I didn’t read the title on the source site before I looked at the pictures I’d have thought that these were clay… But they are actually Toilet paper rolls (without the toilet paper of course). Well I suppose they could have been paper towel rolls that are cut down to size too, but they look pretty neat anyway. Makes me want to go home and try to make my own, except I know I’d fail so miserably… Hit the jump for the full gallery and a link to the original site.
For nearly a hundred years, people have been trying to make wirelessly powered devices and although there have been plenty of people to make fun of the idea, it seems it has actually become a reality. Above is a 10 minute video of a presentation showcasing the already developed wireless technology. It uses magnetic fields to transfer the power over short distances, and the presenter shows that it can work on anything from a TV to a cellphone. Best part is that he can walk between the transfer coil and the receiver without fear of negative impact.
I hope you all had a great weekend… Here’s today’s first post. This is today’s first post because it clearly will be #1 today as well. This is why I’ve posted it first. Buddies go ahead and make some stop animation out of lego and their inspiration was video games of the 80s. More specifically the NES. Ahhh the good ‘ole years! This one def needs sound to be throughly enjoyed.
This is a video from Ukrain’s got Talent and holy man do they ever. Just wait until you watch this girl move the sand in ways I didn’t think sand could be moved. It’s so profound and expressive… I may just cry a little here! Seems so appropriate for my 101st post doesnt it?! (No, It’s not like horse!) It has audio and I found it improved the experience so if you are at work, it might be best to wait until the co-workers go for meetings or until you get home. There isn’t words or anything, it just adds to it. Check it out!
