James Cameron’s Avatar Trailer… Intriguing

Friday August 21st, 2009 in Sweet Links, TV/Cinema/Music | 2 Comments »

Well I’ve already heard about this movie several times this week, and until last night I hadn’t even seen the trailer. Well here is your chance too… Looks intriguing to say the least. I hope the plot will be good though. Check out the official trailer if you can :)

By the way: this is my 100th post on the new blog engine. Also if you didn’t notice, the site is now called CrimsonLinks. Hope you like it… down the road http://writhem.com/ will become my personal website, seperate from my blog of awesome. When that happens I’ll dedicate a full news story to it though.

Chess set that is ready for war!

Thursday August 20th, 2009 in Sweet Links | 6 Comments »

chess01_02

If you’ve ever lost at chess to me (because nobody has ever won… except my grandfather) than you’ll know that I enjoy sweet looking chess sets. I actually have a chess board as the coffee table between my couches in my home theatre room. Then on a completely unrelated note, you may or may not know that I really like medieval times. That being said, I think I’ve found the sweetest and most creative chess set ever made. Dude who made it had some serious patience to put this thing together though… I wonder if I can commission him to make me one in a week. Hmmm.. Hey Dan, did you want a chess rematch next week? You might win this time… (not likely). Hit the jump for the full gallery and a link to the artists story. Thanks to Bill for heads up on the story.

Puts me to shame: Kid Parallel Parking

Wednesday August 19th, 2009 in Sweet Links | No comments »

Damn, I can’t even drive, and this little guy can parallel park? Show off… The best part of this video is definitely the reaction he has that he’s done it… “yeah, I just did that. what of it?”. Now on an unrelated note: Excuse me while I go steal a red PowerWheels parked perfectly between two other cars.

Holy cow, how creative! When this news tip showed up in my queue I was nearly blown away after clicking the link. Thanks very much to aisakie for the pictures of the factories where video games of the 80′s and 90′s were made. The picture above is a shot of the factory where Tetrinos, the blocks used in Tetris, are manufactured. Never before has the public been allowed into these exclusive locations. Here’s an excerpt from the photographer’s website

Tetris:
When Alexei Pajitnov first ordered a load of bricks from Karpov Abramtsevo’s workshop, workers there were wondering who could be interested in all those right-angled blocks. No one in 1985 could have imagined those concrete Tetriminos would become world famous and constitute Russia’s deadliest weapon against Reagan’s America.

Hit the jump for a few more of the pictures and a link to the gallery.

Yeah… alright, I’ll date your avatar.

Here’s a video to promote “The Guild“‘s 3rd season which is coming out soon. The video shows Felicia Day in a corset and enjoying a little bit of kink… YEAH! Take that sword in the — err wha? Anyway if you’ve never seen The Guild, then it might just be your time to take a look at it. The show is about a group of people who are playing an MMO, and instead of the story focusing on the characters, it focuses on the people who play them. Pretty cool actually…

Some advertising companies these days are really coming out with all guns-a-blazing! This one is quite clever. Worth a share anyway.

sneakers

Preorder your’s now… these bad boys are actually pretty sweet… They would totally match my everyday work wear too.

this colorful design, brings you the joy that comes with crushing minions beneath your heroic toes. “Check out the bottom and insides of these…I meant that bit about crushing minions literally, at least from a design sense.”

Thanks to Robin for the heads up, who always wears sneakers with the suit.
