A bit of background for the non-gamers: in the late 1990s, there was a series of multiplayer games called Worms (Worms 2, Worms Armageddon, etc etc). Each player controlled a team of cute worms and took turns to try to annihilate each other by arming their own worms with a selection of outlandish and hilarious weapons. Crazy cartoon carnage ensued. Worms has recently made a comeback with new releases for consoles and iPhone, but 1999’s Worms Armageddon on PC is still a great game too.

Okay I’m going to use the snow storm we had over the weekend as an excuse for the few posts I had last week… make sense? Probably not, but let’s go with it anyway! Calgary got hit with one of the largest blizzards we’ve had in a while, last Friday. More than 1,000 accidents were reported in the first 24 hours of the storm across the city and with winds of up to 70km/h, the snow blew into drifts higher than most cars in places. When CrimsonLinks reader Bill submitted these photos for concideration the first thing I thought I read was Mega-Man. So clearly you can see why I was let down when I clicked the link and the Magnet-Man he constructed entirely out of super strong hard drive magenets, didn’t look much like mega-man. I promise that if you successfully win this Ebay Auction that you’ll have all the ladies bending over backwards for you… har har! Not because its an original NES Controller coffee table, but because you have waaaay too much money! Hope you don’t mind the gold diggers. Gotta admit its a pretty sweet tribute table to one of the most influential input peripherals of all time though. Too bad it would only be shipping to the U.K. and sold for £300.00. All the pictures I could find are posted after the break, including a link back to the EbayUK auction.
