There is a charge for awesomeness (but it’s worth it)

Tuesday June 15th, 2010 in Sweet Links, Video Games | 2 Comments »

“Hey, what do you think of this thing!?” Whenever someone asks me this I can’t help but think I’m digging myself a hole as, invariably, I’m signing on to take the blame for anything someone doesn’t like about a good recommendation I make. Well, since I’m such a great guy (read: I actually don’t care what you think), I’ll give you that scapegoat; that means to say, “Hey, this tool on the interweb said this was good and I bought it, but I didn’t like it so I’ll blame everything on him!” You’re welcome!!

Read on for my take on Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Red Dead Redemption Glitch…

Tuesday May 25th, 2010 in Sweet Links | No comments »

Get the Flash Player to see the wordTube Media Player.

I must admit if I was a beta tester for Rockstar on this one, I totally would have let this glitch slide past too. It’s hardly a glitch and more of a feature… OMG WIN ROCKSTAR! What makes this video the best I’ve seen of this particular glitch is the announcer telling us about the Donkey Lady. Props to Youtube user: WereDaBootz.

Dante’s Inferno Site figured out! Awesome… hellisnigh.com

Thursday February 4th, 2010 in Sweet Links | 1 Comment »

EA is releasing a game later this quarter called Dante’s Inferno which is getting a lot of sub-advertising it seems… Wonder if it’s going to be any good. EA has set up multiple websites and hidden tricks and hints all over the interwebs regarding their next big game. Recently digg.com had a little hidden trick up its sleve in its source code. Screenshot above of the ASCII Art that was embeded into the source. I did some digging (no pun intended) and found the site it pointed to required 5 additional passwords to the one that is with the image above, but I located them! Hit the jump for the 6 passwords and a little more info about http://hellisnigh.com/

Worms ready to distract me at work too? uggh.

Thursday January 28th, 2010 in Sweet Links | No comments »

I dont think I could say it any better than the orignal artist:

A bit of background for the non-gamers: in the late 1990s, there was a series of multiplayer games called Worms (Worms 2, Worms Armageddon, etc etc). Each player controlled a team of cute worms and took turns to try to annihilate each other by arming their own worms with a selection of outlandish and hilarious weapons. Crazy cartoon carnage ensued. Worms has recently made a comeback with new releases for consoles and iPhone, but 1999’s Worms Armageddon on PC is still a great game too.

Amazing work planetjune! Hit the jump for one more picture and a link to the flickr gallery.

Thanks to Bill for the tip on this one.

Sweet: Dr. Mario Song

Tuesday December 1st, 2009 in Sweet Links | No comments »

Hey, here’s a pretty sweet video. Quite a few lyrics worth catching, so you may need to view it a couple times. Not me though, I understood all of it before it was even done playing, cause I’m awesome like that. At least that’s what my girlfriend always tells me. OH YEAH!

Sweet: Pictures of video game factory.

Holy cow, how creative! When this news tip showed up in my queue I was nearly blown away after clicking the link. Thanks very much to aisakie for the pictures of the factories where video games of the 80′s and 90′s were made. The picture above is a shot of the factory where Tetrinos, the blocks used in Tetris, are manufactured. Never before has the public been allowed into these exclusive locations. Here’s an excerpt from the photographer’s website

Tetris:
When Alexei Pajitnov first ordered a load of bricks from Karpov Abramtsevo’s workshop, workers there were wondering who could be interested in all those right-angled blocks. No one in 1985 could have imagined those concrete Tetriminos would become world famous and constitute Russia’s deadliest weapon against Reagan’s America.

Hit the jump for a few more of the pictures and a link to the gallery.

Yeah… alright, I’ll date your avatar.

Here’s a video to promote “The Guild“‘s 3rd season which is coming out soon. The video shows Felicia Day in a corset and enjoying a little bit of kink… YEAH! Take that sword in the — err wha? Anyway if you’ve never seen The Guild, then it might just be your time to take a look at it. The show is about a group of people who are playing an MMO, and instead of the story focusing on the characters, it focuses on the people who play them. Pretty cool actually…
