In a time where cell animation seems to be losing ground and movies like Wall-E seem to be doing very well at the box office, does this film really have a place in our hearts? Survey Says: Yes! Hit the jump for the full review on another of Disney’s original animations.

Just got home from this movie that I really was expecting a lot more from than I got. Hit the jump to find out why the latest comedy staring, George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges, and Kevin Spacey just didn’t cut it for me.

Whiteout is set in Antarctica, where U.S. Marshall Carrie Stetco is the only law enforcement stationed and takes place just a few days before the Antarctic Winter will begin. She’s looking forward to going somewhere warm, when Antarctica’s first murder is uncovered. Hit the jump in order to read my full review…

Currently on imdb.com the rating on this movie is near perfect… It’s sitting at an 8.9 out of 10 with just over 12k votes which makes it #26 on the Top250 list. HOW!? Hit the jump for my full review including my reasoning for why I wouldn’t give this movie all the praise it seems to be receiving.

Most times when you hear about a movie that is ‘based on a true story’ you think sadness or some sort of heart ache. This movie was not the case at all… Maybe that’s because it was based on two true stories and not just one. This light hearted and fun movie will really entertain those viewers who like to cook or enjoy fine dining as much as I do. Hit the jump for my full analysis of the flick…

What a fun film! I know some of you disagreed with my review of The Ugly Truth when I said it was as good as it was, and as a result have downgraded the review for it to an 8. Two reasons why I downgraded it, one of which was 500 Days of Summer was better than The Ugly Truth, but not as good as Star Trek. Hit the jump for the breakdown of my thoughts of why 500 Days of Summer was so enjoyable.

Review: The Hurt Locker

This is a movie about the day in a life of an ordinance disposal team that is deployed in Iraq and the movie is filmed with intention to feel like a documentary. The movie allows the viewer to gain perspective into some of the challenges and dangers that soldiers are faced with everyday. The acting is superb but without a clear antagonist, it leaves the viewer feeling like the movie lacked plot direction. Hit the jump for an in depth review of my thoughts of the movie.

Ahhh, good ol’ Michael Bay… Enough action and explosions to drown any normal person. Maybe all the negative reviews and lack of personal build up contributed, but I was pleasantly surprised with this movie. Even with all the inconsistencies and plot changes (not only from the original series, but from the first movie too), I still found myself enjoying it. My full review will be up after the break…

Review: Away We Go

Saturday June 27th, 2009 in TV/Cinema/Music | 1 Comment »

Away We Go is about a couple that decide they are free to pick up their lives and move anywhere they want to, now that a baby is on the way. They travel to different places from their past in order to locate the perfect place to grow up… I enjoyed the idea. The movie was an exploration into what different people concider a home, in an attempt to locate the main character’s new home. Hit the jump for my full review of the movie.

Review: The Proposal

Wednesday June 24th, 2009 in TV/Cinema/Music | 1 Comment »

Question: How do you feel about people talking in the theatre during a fun movie? Does it bother you? WELL THEM I’M SORRY! (not really) I had to talk all the way through this movie. This movie was a fun light movie with a comfortable mix of serious undertones. My full review after the break…
